Strange Shoveler behaviour (1 Viewer)

Earlier on in the year I visited Lound Nature Reserve in Notts. On one of the pits there was a decent sized group of Shovelers c50 and they were all going round in a very tight circle they did this for a few minutes all tightly packed. Has anybody got an idea why they were doing this?
