Strumpshaw in October (1 Viewer)

I will be travelling to Norfolk at the weekend and just wondered if Strumpshaw is worth visiting this time of year. Is it likely to be waterlogged? I last visited during the summer months some years ago - seem to remember there were some board walks. What might we see? Thanks all.

It's potentially worth visiting, although it's maybe not the best time of year there as summer visitors will have left. There should, however, be reedbed birds like Marsh Harriers, Bearded Tits etc. Nearby Buckenham might be a bit better, with more wildfowl and waders. The area shouldn't be waterlogged unless there's been a surge tide, although I'm unsure of current conditions.

Thank you Andrew, I have never seen ‘beardies’, would you believe! Will be good to test my new camera lens on them🤞

Many of the paths are pretty 'sticky' at the moment, and are often subject to closure when there's a high tide. Recently Bitterns, Kingfishers, Bearded Tits, Green Sandpiper and Great Egret have been around the reserve.
