Stuck on what to hire. (1 Viewer)

Always finding a way to go off topic...
United Kingdom
Hey all, I'm heading to Philadelphia in July-August and I was planning on hiring a camera body from a company who I have always hired from. The 2 bodies I'm looking at getting are the Canon EOS R and the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. I'm there for 14 days, and the prices are £252 for the EOS R and £323 for the Mark IV. I've been doing some research and I'm stuck on what to hire. Some reviews and videos on the EOS R are very positive, whereas others are quite negative, and I'm not sure if I could get used to the mirrorless side of Canon YET. The Mark IV is something I've always had my eyes on, but the price was a bit out of my way, until now. Some of the shots I've seen with the Mark IV are incredible, the quality is consistent at all ISO's, and the EOS R follows suit. But I'm not sure on what to choose. Could I have some opinions on what others would choose?

Many many thanks,
Ev

I'm not sure than I can contribute any useful help, as I have been wavering back and forth between the same choices myself. The biggest point holding me back from going with the Canon R is not the camera itself, but the cost of switching over to the glass to go with it. However, I hope that you post something on your experience which ever way you decide to go.
