hi H Happy New Year 2009 to you!! :t: Wow you have seen a lot of Waxwings since I visited this thread last time. You are very lucky to have had that opportunity :-O :t: You have a good selection of birds - never seen a Redwing yet - but that chance will come one of these days. A great mini-twitch for the end of 2008! :-O Do you find Fieldfares quite vocal?. They like to hang around in a groups all of the time, and look after each others interests. There never seem to be a single one on its own anywhere. That is the point where there is an opportunity to see one without them moving off so quickly. Too many eyes watching all of your movements - just disconcerting at times Tree sparrows close to where you stay and a Bullfinch - my OH loves bullfinches as they are his favourite bird. Lucky. lucky, lucky you! :t: Have to admit the birds do enjoy the Xmas left overs. The more calorific the better for energy. Never found any 'older' mincemeat pies to hand out (never make them as such)Never thought of Oatcakes at all. The Blackies loved the Apple Pies which where handed out to them from this end. There seems to be a lot of LTT's appearing at peoples feeders. I am under the impression they seen to pick their favourite places, and like to make their presence known when they come to feed. To see 13 at one time is a fantastic sight to see. They like the Nutfeeders unless I am told different. Perhaps they are just fussy who they pick for their food requirements. ;)
