Either the focus loosens up or the eye cups come off or breaks or the diopter goes wacky or something falls off of them. I don't LIKE Chinese binoculars because I have never found one that didn't have an issue out of the box or developed an issue later on so I personally wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Your experience may be different so you are welcome to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. I have had a totally opposite experience with Japanese binoculars. NO QA problems and no issues so I recommend them. In my experience they are built better and they have better QA. Here is a perfect example in the post above as Alexis Powell describes a Bushnell Legend Ultra HD."Only downside is that some units are defective right out of the box. I've helped friends find good ones and they are all going strong after several years of heavy use (except the plastic ring over the underlying metal diopter ring tends to crumble off)."FIND GOOD ONES! Gimme a Break! You have to search to FIND A GOOD ONE! The diopter ring CRUMBLES OFF! I don't like Chinese binoculars for REASONS LIKE THIS! That is WHY I would NOT buy a Vanguard. ANYDAY I would pay another $150.00 to get a Japanese built binocular over a Chinese one. ANYDAY!The Chinese binoculars have good glass but horrid QA and build quality. If you can find a good one you might be ok for awhile. That is my opinion based on experience with a LOT of different models. It is fine to disagree.</blockquote>
