Due to being out of town, there hasn't been anything to report. However, while out of town....back to hometown of Independence, Kansas....I saw some old favorites from my childhood. Western Meadowlark, Red-tailed Hawks, lots of Mockingbirds, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Barn Swallows and Chimney Swifts, and quite a few flocks of Purple Martins. Ahhhh, the good old prairie. I used to play a lot of golf on my hometown golf course, and I used to see Western Meadowlarks by the dozens. They probably still have my favorite call of any bird. Every time I hear one, I immediately go back to being twelve years old and playing golf early in the morning with the dew still on the greens and watching my putted ball kick up a rooster tail of water as it shows me the exact break of the putt. I can also hear the lawn mowers cutting the greens and fairways as I look out from my back deck in excitement from invisioning my day of playing golf and swimming at the club pool......a life of absolutely no worries nor responsibilities.....truely innocent times. Now, off to invent my time machine......
