Landlocked list-grower, sometimes twitcher, obsess
Had another good birding trip to Croatia this summer, taking mainly Pula area, plus a few days in Zagreb.

Birds seen: (Lifers) Nutcracker (Several, Zagreb) Sombre Tit, Barred Warbler (single female high in tree) Olivaceous Warbler, Melodious Warbler, Middle-Spotted Woodpecker, Hawfinch, Serin, Spotted Flycatcher (loads!), Common Redstart.

Other good stuff: Three Hobbies at once in the Sava flood plain (Zagreb), Little Egret (one, Lake Bundek), Hooded Crows, Common Terns/Kingfisher (both Pula Harbour), Yellow-Legged Gull, Wood Warbler, Sardinian Warbler, Red Backed Shrike (just one outside Pula in a garden/orchard area), Golden Oriole several, a pair of Common Sandpiper (Pula Harbour) etc etc Sparrowhawk.

Birding wasn't easy and expanded massively on my previous effort - birds went 'to ground' at 11 due to intense heat. I didn't manage to get to any of the mega sites, but I go at least twice a year so soon, I guess.

Hvala
