Thanks very much Kits and Val - it's very much a man-made landscape and never far from pylons and roads but very picturesque still. Essex doesn't have the spectacular rolling hills and rocky coasts of the south-west, it is a much flatter landscape (though many parts are actually very undulating and hilly) but has lots of little woods and hedgerows, a patchwork of fields and gently-flowing rivers.

Another pic from this morning, though not really a sunrise as you can only just see a tiny patch of sky:

From Sunday evening, but only just got round to looking. Sunset through the fog wasn't great, but it was better than the birds, which were completely hidden.
