Sussex white ringed gulls - any response? (1 Viewer)

I read gull rings wherever I go, submit them to the respective schemes religiously. However, there is one scheme that I've recently not bothered with due to lack of response for so long... and that's the Sussex white ringed birds (http://www.cr-birding.org/node/313).

I know there are several people who have the same issue as I do, but is there anyone on here who has been getting any replies recently?

I realise it's not the absolute duty of a ringer to come back to the reporter with a bird's history before anyone asks. Anyway, here's an example of one of their birds...

Cheers
Rich

I do likewise Rich, and reported a similar ringed gull that had been photographed near Eastbourne and placed in the Gallery on here. I reported it through Euring (I assume you do likewise) but got no response.

I ring gulls with the North Thames group and the leader there said he thought these white/black rings were used by a guy who ringed birds rehabilitated through various centres along the south coast, but that he was ill/had died suddenly - hence no response.

That's a shame, but surely the BTO would have the data, as Tarsiger says.

I think that typically the individual colour ringers are SO fast that anything else would pale by comparison
I think four hours from reporting to reply is my best.
Although slower, on the bright side, I've never failed to get a response from.the bto; maybe send it in and forget about. Sometime next year you'll have a nice surprise.
