These days I split my time between birding with the best bins I can afford, and cobbling together ever lower gearing for my vintage racing bikes (Ciocc and Olmo in my case, all Campy SR of course). The birding gets ever better, my hillclimbing gets ever worse.:-CBut having a Leica 8x20 Ultravid in my jersey pocket is a perfect excuse to stop on a hard ride and look for some nesting peregrine falcons.
