I received my Eagle Optics newsletter this morning, and found that EO is running a special whereby you can turn in your old worn EL (as long as it's in working condition) for an instant $800 credit toward the purchase of a new Swarovision EL at EO's regular price, which is $2479.
So that's a new SV EL for $1,679 + your old one. Depending on the condition of your old EL, you might get a better deal selling it online rather than trading it in, but for those who are looking to upgrade, this is one option.
IMNSHO, new SV ELs should all sell for that much w/out a trade in. I know the old capitalist mantra of "what the market can bear" but in this economy, paying $2,500 for binoculars seems quite unbearable.
So trade 'em if you got 'em.*

hello Brock
$800 dosn't seem a lot for your "old & worn" EL , i mean just how worn are they going to be , you would assume that most people who buy them at least take some reasonable care with them , they have a 30 year warranty after all.
You just send them to swarovski let them do whats necessary , then sell them privately.
What do they do with all the trade-ins anyway ?.....
