This may be a dumb questions, but:

Is the Swarovski EL 10X42 Swarovision Binocular with Manufacturer Item Number: 34210 the same and most current model as the Swarovski EL 10x42 WB listed on Swarovski website?

Are these the same binocular?

I don't know what's on the Swarovski website, or how the model number might be changed, but if you read other threads in this subforum, the close focus ability of the 34210 (FieldPro version of the 10x42 EL that has been available for several years) will not be continued on future production of the 10x42 EL, so it will not be exactly the same binocular or model going forward even through it may have the same physical appearance externally.

I just checked the website. The answer is "no" for the reasons given above.

Hi P4L,

The model number is part of the UPC (Universal Product Code) which is included on the box label

The pre-FieldPro 10x42 was model 34110, and as you indicate the FP 10x42 was model 34210 - see two labels close in sequence
(the FP x42’s were introduced from serial number K8524 47681, as indicated in Swarovski’s current Spare Parts catalogue, see: https://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=390663 )

In relation to the increased minimum focus to the EL x42’s that was introduced earlier this month, along with the new NL x42 line, I’ve not yet seen a box label
However, it seems that the modified x42 version dates from serial number K9027 48841, see Jan’s post at: https://www.birdforum.net/showpost.php?p=4030167&postcount=6

John

p.s. the corresponding EL 8.5x42 model numbers are: pre-FP 34108, and; FP 34208
and with the introduction of the NL x42's only the EL x42 models were altered - the x32 and x50 ones remain the same
