Some Family busy near Luzern.So I decided to go via Stille Ruess.
I hope to see Hobbies and they did not fail me. Not great photos but will revisit in the near future For some photoshoots.
Other birds seen or heard included Reed Warblers, Sedge warbler, Cuckoos, Red and Black Kites, Black Woodpecker, Golden Orioles, Fieldfares, Barn Swallows, Lapwings and Garganey.
I dipped on Grasshopper Warbler, Wood sandpiper and Nightingales that were also reported.
I did not visit Flachsee as there seemed to be some army training.
Weather was fine.
One of my favourite sites.

A few hours around Seeliesberg (UR)in the mountains.
Red and Black Kites, Common Buzzard, Kestrels, Barn Swallows, etc. The star today was Western Bonellis Warbler. I love the song of this bird.
This area is very good for the Warbler.
Other birds seen here include Peregrines, Crag Martins, Crested and Coal tits.

Back in Basel.
Several nice birds reported in Switzerland today:

• Woodchat Shrikes
• Whiskered Terns
• Red footed Falcons
• Red throated Pipits
• Greater short toed Larks
• Ortolan Buntings
• Short toed Eagle
• Bee eaters

A fantastic Sunday. A day out with photographer friend Michael.
We met at Augst, then visited Seltisberg and finally Klingnauersee.
Some 63 Species seen or heard including:

• Marsh Harriers
• Greenshank
• Ruff
• Wood Sandpipers
• Blackwinged Stilts
• Little Ringed Plover
• Kingfishers,
• Great Reed Warblers
• Goldcrests
• Golden Orioles
• Cuckoos

Weather was perfect.

Switzerland is a great place to see Bearded Vultures.
Several are released every year or so after successful breeding program. Best places in the Mountains above Leuk, Melcheseefrut, and near Zermatt.

Weather turned with storms and rain.
However, specialities are still being seen:

• Red footed Falcons

Nice collection of Terns seen today in Switzerland

Interestingly I found Several May/June Bugs the favourite food of Red Footed Falcons, and no surprise several of these gorgeous birds reported today.
Bee eaters still arriving.

Today Farmers were taking the firstcut of grass from our nearby fields.
This attracted many birds hunting for prey.
These included:

• White Storks(50)
• Grey Heron
• Black Kites
• Red Kites
• Common Buzzards
• Rooks
• Crows

Quite a battlefield out there.

Nice! I see the Great Skua will have clocked up 5 months‘ stay in a couple of days, it must enjoy the easy pickings on the Lac de Neuchatel !

Not that unusual it seems, I did a quick check back to 2017 on Ornitho.ch and in some years there has been the odd one into mid May, I remember when I lived by the English Channel we would often see Great Northerns well into May, even doing their amazing call at times!

Among the reports accepted during that meeting are the 1st record of Bonelli's Eagle in category A, the 1strecord of Greater Spotted Eagle “fulvescens", the 2nd record of Purple Gallinule in category C, the 14th record of Spectacled Warbler, the 17th-21st records of Pygmy Cormorant, the 19th record of Lesser Spotted Eagle since 1900 and the 20th record of Lesser Kestrel since 1900.
