Just pre-ordered the kindle edition due "out" Feb. 2nd. I hugely enjoyed Birkhead's last book, The Wisdom of Birds (in spite of the hokey title ).

Yes, he is a first-rate writer. I also much enjoyed his Promiscuity: An Evolutionary History of Sperm Competition (not a bird book though).
