Hello. I can't ID the tern (?) in these photos. The photos taken today in Greater Poland, Poland.
Other than this bird, I saw the common and black terns on the same lake. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Hello Misikuru,

I can understand, why you got a strange feeling from this Tern. My gut feeling, when seeing the pictures were: it might well be an Arctic Tern. But I cant get further, because I cant eliminate a Common Tern. But maybe others?
Even in quiz-modus, I would opt for a Comic Tern.

Please compare to this Arctic Tern among Common Terns:

Thank you, Alexander!
OK, it's hard for me... the one in the middle of the first photo would be an arctic?

Also, it seems I took another photo of this bird without realising it, so I will attach it just in case...

Hello,

yes, you are right, the Arctic Tern is in the middle (short-legged bird)

...477 (2). jpeg, the bird in centre frame has an orange-red bill with a dark tip. That fits common. Even on a photo of this quality, the blood red of Arctic should be clear. In contrast, the bright contrasting white "cheeks" tend towards Arctic where I find the cheeks often shine out.
