The unscientific way that I test resolution is that I have torn-out magazine pages Scotch-taped all over the fridge, and I sit in a chair 30 feet away in darkness with the fridge illuminated, and see how readable the fine sections of print are.  Also there is a variety of color images and color print on the pages that give me other impressions of the optical quality. As judged by the above methodology, the center resolution of my Vanguard Endeavor ED (I) 10x's is good, but certain lag my alpha's by a noticeable amount.  I don't have any reason to believe that ED (I)'s are a bad sample, but it certainly is possible.  They are performing to a level that I would expect given their very reasonable price.  I don't have other mid-range 10x binoculars to compare to at the moment.Was your testing with 8x or 10x versions?</blockquote>
