That sounds better. I can live with 1.5 rotations as long as the stiction is sufficient. Almost any bin's focuser can be too fast if the stiction is loose. I could actually spin the focuser wheel of my first sample 8x32 LX for about a 1/4 turn, which was half its total rotation! Drove me nuts trying to focus with that sample. Even the second sample, which had sufficient stiction, turned too fast for my eyes with 1/2 turn. Glad to hear Zeiss did a better job with the 8x32 model, usually it's the other way around where the midsized models focusers are faster like they are with the HGLs. Yeah, the Saab was a money pit. An amazingly faaaast money pit when it wasn't in the garage being fixed. Also very safe. A drunken driver lost control of his car on the side road I was parked, hit my Saab first, which suffered a slight tear in the rear wheel well, then he hit two Japanese compacts parked in front of me, and the sides were completely smashed in on those cars. For about a year, I worked in the service dept. of a Chevy/Suburu/Saab dealer. Saab owners were frequently in for repairs. What made it worse was the service manager who handled Saab repairs got paid by commission so he convinced customers to make repairs that they didn't need, but many were needed. At that time (early '90s), Chevy was the King of Recalls, so there were also a lot of Chevys coming in, and Suburus weren't as reliable as they are now, so the service dept was always hopping. Among my duties was driving the courtesy van. My doctor owned a Saab at the time, and his car ("the bomb" as he called it) was in for repairs almost monthly. I used to drive him home or to hi office from the dealership and then pick up him later or the next day. Even though most of the repair work was covered under warranty, and he got a courtesy ride there and back, he got tired of the time he spent going back and forth to the dealer. He finally sold the Saab and bought a Toyota FJ Cruiser, which had good reliability. I sold my Saab and bought a Honda Civic, and put less money into it in 14 years than I did my Saab in two years. Too bad Consumer Reports doesn't rate binoculars. I'd like to find out which brands have the greatest reliability. Now that Nikon dropped its No Faulty policy on second hand bins, I'm looking at other brands, and the first item on my check list is warranty terms. brokenroller
