Hi, attached are photos of pond herons taken in different places in thailand.
From the left, Photo 1 was Jan 11, 2020 at a park near Chatuchuk Market in Bangkok.
Photo 2 was taken May 28 2020 from the bridge between songkhla and patthalung provinces in south thailand.
Photo 3 was taken May 8 in a paddy field close to the Hat Yai airport in south thailand
Can anyone help ID any of them?
thank you in advance
steve

Think winter plumage Ardeola spp. are generally considered unidentifiable? On location, Chinese Pond Heron and Javan Pond Heron are the available options.

This was posted yesterday elsewhere

#no 2 was thought to be a Javan (coming into breeding plumage.)

;) no worries now you have two correct answers to two threads instead of one

It is possible btw to delete a post by going to ‘edit’, ‘advanced’ and highlighting ‘delete’ - (you dont have to give a reason)
