Tell me about it. This is a total shambles, but.... The Hawke 10x25 seller now told me that he sent the bin signed for and when he checked the nice tracking number (that he never bothered to tell me about or input to ebay, all I had was a 2nd class due latest 5.Jan advisory from ebay that it was dispatched so I sat here waiting) he was able to discover that there had been an "attempted delivery" on the 23rd December (no card left at my house so I seriously doubt a postman ever came near here) and that the bin had since been reclining at the sorting depot and when I went there just now this last part is true. Good news is it's a nice little bin. Great condition and seems to be working correctly although focus seems a bit jerky but maybe it just needs loosened with some use as it's been lying a few weeks. I'm still annoyed but I like the bin so will calm down maybe tomorrow. These things are just sent to try us but a good bin saves the day. From what I can see of the Helios the Viking seems better but the Helios is proper junk unless I can fix it and even then it probably is not much use. Hardly worth returning given what I paid. I did read somewhere that it's just a matter of taking off the prism cover and gluing the prism back into place. So the bin wins by a mile pretty much but there may yet be some hope with the Optima 6x16 although given how things have been going ...... if it is any good then I can return the 4x12 and once that's sorted then I think that will be an end to it all. If I can't repair or use the Helios then it's the bin for that.
