A couple of off topic responses to this thread :) I saw someone wearing a souvenir t-shirt from the bridge on the River Kwai site. I either didn't know or had forgotten that it was in Thailand. The next time I was in my favorite Thai restaurant I asked the waitress about the River Kwai. She ended up getting all the people in the restaurant out to the table and we were looking it up on my iPhone. They hadn't heard about the movie and didn't know about the bridge. One of the employees was vaguely aware that the river was in the north but other than helping me with my pronunciation of the word they weren't much help. I thought it was interesting that something fairly well known in the west isn't even known in it's own country. But the Thais probably had their own things to worry about with the Japanese and didn't spend much time worrying about the British. I was watching TV a while back and a Chanel commercial with Keira Knightley came on. I had to rewind and watch the commercial again, not because she was in a tight leather jumpsuit, but because she was riding an early 70s Ducati 750 Sport. Chad
