I normally carry a compact camera with me but had taken it out of my backpack for some reason the other night and forgot to put it back - typical that it was the time when I really needed it! At least I got a photo good enough to ID the butterfly though. I've probably seen loads before but this is the first time I've seen and identified a butterfly as being a Comma (if you know what I mean!) - gorgeous thing. I really should try to learn to identify the common butterflies, I'm really awful at it and struggle with pretty much anything other than Gatekeeper, Speckled Wood, Orange Tip and 'white'.
