Agree with Val there, Lydia. Some similar to ours of course. Not up on the scientific names of many of the ones in this country!

I've a few from today, but I need to id before I put them on here and I can't do that at this time of night!!!...so...they'll be here tomorrow sometime.

Here are the ones from yesterday...

1. I think is Cat's Ear.

2. I'm informed this is Wood Avens.

3. This is either Pink or Blue Water-speedwell. Apparently they do mix!

Strangly, Pam, it wasn't what I first thought, an Early Purple, on looking it up. There were a lot in the same area, a grass verge on a minor road & I think they were all the same species.

I took a walk around the village paths this morning for a couple of hours and, apart from all the ones we've all seen already, there were these....

1. Close up of Bramble flower.

2&3. Common Mallow.

4. Goat's Beard fruit, rather like a giant Dandelion!

Very nice, Wendy. I didn't realise Brambles had such a pretty flower. We have them invading our garden at present, nasty thorny things to cut too. My hands are very scratched|:(|

Hi Pam

Love your Welsh poppies. Welsh Poppies are one of my mums favourite plants.

Val: You can get Welsh Poppies in Yellow and Orange. Lovely flowers for your garden, and they are quite robust to grow too

Thanks for your replies Val and kathy.

Val, I cannot recall seeing many yellow Poppies growing in the wild so it was a nice find.

Kathy, the orange Poppy you are referring to is I believe called 'Atlantic Poppy'.
