I own some older Alphas (Leica BA, Swaro Habicht (porro) and Zeiss Dialyt Classic) but given the astoundingly satisfying optical performance of the Zen ED and ED2s I, too, cannot imagene buying a current model from any of these Alpha makers at today's prices. I have no doubt that the current Alphas are better, but I can no longer justify the stretch.  Like Steve C, this a hobby for me, and I have received nothing from Zen or any other maker (oops, in the spirit of total and full disclosure, Charles sent me a new strap to replace the miserable bandolier length original strap that came with my 8 x 43 Zen Ray EDs and Doug at Camera Land sent me a Camera Land ball cap and a coffee sample when I bought my Minox HGs).</p></blockquote><p></p>
