Fireform, Hardly know where to begin here. To start off, I happen to agree with your assertion that Zen Ray is no Leupold or even Vortex just yet. If you would have left it there, there would have been no response at all from me, as I said we agree. However you went on to in my opinion anyway, to punch ZR below the belt. You clearly insinuated that all they were is just a bunch of guys on the Internet ordering binoculars and they further had no ability to repair or otherwise inspect them. In fact you pretty clearly stated they had no such ability. You said they had no ability to do anything other than order the binoculars they sell out of the OEM catalog. You clearly presented your opinion as being the only ability ZR had was to send it back and get another one from the factory. Kind of a low blow for somebody who wants us to believe how high they are in your esteem. You are no more or less biased in your opinion of ZR than you think I am. If that were the case, ZR would not have gotten the low blow you delivered. You pretty well drug their ability, intent, and lots of other things through the mud. That was what I took from it and that formed the basis for my reaction. After reading that post from you it was pretty easy to conclude you opinion of them had gone negative. I used "stink" as an adjective to describe my perception of your post. Others would have worked as well. I'm glad you have the ability to take apart a binocular. However, until your above post, that was never an issue. The issue was your assertion that ZR did not/does not possess that capability. Or much other in the way of either abilities or capabilities for that matter. No, your binocular was not repaired and returned to you. You returned it for a refund, which you got. You did not request repair. Yours was disassembled and it and one other in particular were disassembled and used as the basis for the design fix. Do Zen Rays products have weaknesses? Sure they do. I bet even Swarovision will too. I will point out that I have never said they were the absolute equal of the alpha class glass. Much of the objections raised by many make that very assumption. Now we come to another point of mutual agreement: There has been too much said on that subject already.
