All the heathland specialities are present (except Dartford Warbler, thanks to the cold snap).

Woodlark, Tree Pipit, Redstart, and Stonechat should be easy, and Hobby are present (better in warm weather). A couple of pairs of Curlew breed, a few Crossbill are around, and Spotted Flycatcher are around but elusive.

At the moment there is a Wood Warbler singing near Thursley village, but you may have to persuade your leaders to go there, as its a bit 'off the beaten track' as far as the usual walking route for a birding trip (unless you can go off there on your own).

The Wood Warbler is approximately here (move the map up once, and you will see The Moat car park, which is presumably the one you'll be using):

There are still very small numbers on surrounding heaths, so if we get a run of successful breeding seasons and warm winters, then I'm sure the young of these birds will disperse, and re-populate Thursley once more.
