What a bitter cold day, the wind was very chilling.

I was out on a field trip with my night school class this morning and we saw the following birdies (Grand Total of 45 different species in 3 hours) -

Kestrel
Hen Harrier
Red Merganser
Shoveler
Teal
Lapwing
Wigeon
Mallard Duck
Tufted Duck
Golden Eye - got thrown by the colourings of the female though !
Greylag Goose - some with orange ID band round neck
Black Headed Gull
Herring Gull
Great Black Backed Gull
Red Shank
Buzzard - nearly ran it over as it came up from the verge !
Skylark
Snow Bunting
Reed Bunting
Crows
Rooks
