Hi Rich

Got the Bewick's notes/photo OK but no Gannet yet (unless you've sent it today).

The bird over Mitcham Common was seen at 1315, so obviously not the same as Tices (unless it did a big loop!).

Cheers
Dave

Descripitions of Gannet and Bewick's have been submitted to SBC by myself. The latter should pass muster as we all confirmed ID, as did Joh Clark whom I beleive is on the Surrey Rarities committee. The Gannet is straightforward but you never know.

Good news about both the SEO and the Barn Owl. Let's hope they are still there at the weekend.

Gents,

A friend of mine is a gardener at Loseley Park, and contacted me earlier about their Spring Show, which runs from 19th-21st April. They have a free space for a stall and wondered if we want first dibs on it? Could potentially do a repeat of what Kevin and I did for the Heron Wood Community day last year?

Let me know your thoughts,

Matt.

Matt,
Great idear. I am well up for it. Iam sure Steve and Tony of BVCT would like to get involved .

Okay great, Rich, I'll let my mate know and maybe get on to Steve B and we can go from there.

I've got a completely free day on Sunday - Planning to finish at Tice's, but anyone fancy Pallas's and maybe Sibe Chiffchaff in the morning?

Matt.

Good to see Wigeon numbers building. Will try and get down this afternoon to see the Barn Owl. I was hoping to see the SEO but it appears to have quite literally flown. Wihtout bins for the next 4 weeks so will miss a lot.

No SEO his evening but great views of the Barn Owl hunting along the hedgerow at the Kiln End of the Meadow. A biting wind and freezing temperatures meant Rich H and I didn't stay long. Weak I know but any fool can be uncomfortable.

Count me in for the 16th Feb, Rich.

A very brief visit this afternoon yielded just a Kestrel and a light scattering of wildfowl on the now very high workings before a hail storm stopped play!

Is Tongham GP not in the Tice's recording area then? I've always thought it was (mainly due to the title of this thread!).

For Tices Meadow I record up to the fence on the southern edge of Tongham GP.
So if you follow the path to Tongham GP you walk out of the Tices Meadow recording area just before you can cross the bridge to Aldershot Park.

Cant belive the water levels 69.40 this evening. The Bike Pool is part of the main lake and wont be long untill the meadow is part of it to, if it continues ! Hansons Concrete Plant is also part of the main water body now. Only one small spit of Kevins Bunds showing for 80 + Lapwings 1 Yellow Leg Gull with all the other Gulls. 16 Skylark Meadow Pipit . Green Sandpiper in stream with Little Egret.
