A steady flow of birders to the mound over the last couple of days including one resplendent in Canadian Army Uniform. The Pectoral Sandpiper remains and has now been present for 13 days. It is often joined by the Little Stint and the Ruff. Two Wigeon also today and stunning views of a Peregrine taking a Wood Pigeon in mid air then feasting on it opposite the mound.

The SSE start cutting tree s below power lines tomorrow so expect some paths closed off . Tices 24 this Sat at 12 till Sun 12 noon.Do come and have a look in forBirding , moth trapping during the evening . Tours to see Wasp Spider and to see rare plants Yellow Dogger for one are a must. Rich.

Great Weekend on the 24Hr. Thanks to all for joining us, with 67 species of bird including Pintail, Ring Plover, Ruff,Green Sandpiper, Peregrine,Tawny Owl and Golden Plover.Thanks to Sean and Rich s Moth Traps 33 species of Moth recorded and may be 4 species of Bat thanks to Marion as well as lots more

Thanks to all who came along to the Work Party yesterday. Willow almost clear of Wheatear Field. Tony cut the bank and paths before Hansons start back on site, lizards ect. It was also a buzz to see Phill test drive his new cross country wagon through the radar gate and onto the mound. Now if he can !!!! Thank you The Tices Crew for showing him around. Of note today a very late L R P 4 Ruff and White Wagtail.

A little quieter on Sunday. Initially fog stopped play but a revisit at lunchtime produced the first returning Redwings with 3 in the north end of the scrub feeding in Hawthornes. The Juv LRP was still present and the site appeared to be filling up with more and more Gulls. In the middle of a large group of Lesser Black-Backs was a proud adult Greater-Black-Backed Gull.

Of note today 5 Ruff 3 Green Sandpiper 1 Little Ring Plover still here , which Kevin tells us is the latest stayer in Surrey . Over 300 L B B Gulls with min 150 B H Gulls 5 Common Gull and 1 Med Gull. Work Party 8th Nov 10am get involved.

Barn Owl back at last this evening 3 Greensand Pintail . Hanson going sort out track below mound for Phill also planting along river with wild meadow seed thanks to BWVT and trees ect

Belated news from the weekend - A first year Kittiwake shot through the patch on Friday afternoon heading west wards. 9 Golden Plover reported over on Saturday and Rich H had 70 Goldies and a Curlew yesterday. A Green Sandpiper remains in the plant yard and Water Rails are calling almost continuously from the Reed Bed.

350 to 400 Golden Plover in the Meadow 1 Dunlin 50 Linnet .Good Gull Nummbers and min 4 YL Gull Very muddy at the moment but SSE tell me they will tidy up.Sorry Phill. Hanson trying to complete Plant Yard soon if they can. Rich.

A quiet weekend at Tice's but with a few reasonable species of note:

3 Little Egrets were present.

A male Peregrine on both days (feeding on a small prey item on Sunday)

Build up of wildfowl numbers is noteworthy.
