Loony the Loon
Found in the Midlands, growing at ground level, a very short plant. The tiny flowers were a beauty. Any idea what it is? Thanks in advance! :t:

Hi Gavia,

I think it's Eyebright, Euphrasia agg., but as for which species, I'll leave that to the experts. I've a feeling that it's a difficult genus.

Ok almost certainly E nemorosa; this is the "common" Eyebright - you are probably only in range for 2-3 Euphrasia's.

cheers, alan

Thanks again, Alan!! :t: I have checked pictures in the net and that's what it looks like! It seems to be a plant also found in the USA.

Some of the pictures I saw in the net show a much bigger plant. I guess those are missidentifications... It was very common in the area and didn't see any plant being much taller than my ankle.
