These are abundant around our home in Cyprus and until I took this shot, I thought they were flies, anyone got an ID for me?

Yep, its a moth

I know these as Owl Midges. As The Fern says, a fly, Diptera/Psychodidae. I should think ID to species is challenging.

Yep, its a moth

No it's not! It's a Moth Fly ( a fly) also known as Drain Flies.
