A very handsome pheasant indeed, Wendy!

I have been out for most of the day, but did count 15 wood pigeons taking off from the back garden when I went into the kitchen to make my coffee first thing, and the front lawn was covered with chaffinches as usual.

Our usual birds & I watched this Rook.
First he saw all the other birds off, secondly he went for the feeder & third he proceeded to demolish it. He'd already had it in half, but I'd tied it together this time.o:D
The other pics are also from today.

He/she is, Wendy, it seems to be the only one who does it as well. The others just wait till all the food falls on the grass.|||:D|

At last, a Chaffinch visited today, the first one I've seen in the garden. He was eating sunflower hearts from the tray under the feeder, I always thought they were ground -feeding finches.

A Greenfinch the other day and a Chaffinch today, things are looking up :t:. Always plenty of Goldfinches on the nyger, why the other two aren't frequent visitors I don't know.

My chaffies feed in all sorts of places, Bea!....on the ground, tables and even perching on the feeders.....but not usually for long, one seed and they are off!

I've been out for most of the day, so not sure what has cleared the tables. However, I was back just in time to see a Siskin on one of the seed feeders. First this winter.

Our Chaffinches feed everywhere too Wendy. Just like in your garden. Brilliant you have a Siskin, we haven't seen any all Winter either & still haven't.
That pesky Rook, it tipped the feeder upsidedown & all the seed fell out on the grass. I am going to have to think of another way to stop it doing it.|8.||:(||:d|

Not very far away, there are a couple of Song Thrushes, they've been singing on and off since about 6.45. I do wish they would pay a visit to my garden....;)

Thank you Kathy.
I have been out most of today so haven't seen what has visited the garden.
There were lots of Herring Gulls in Plymouth though & around the outdoor part of the Costa coffee, several Sparrows & Starlings clearing up crumbs. They get right under your feet too.|:D|

Nice visitor there Wendy. I can't remember the last time I had a Siskin in the garden, years ago I think. Probably 3 months since I had a Wren too. Hmmm this is the second time I've typed this out today, I wonder where my first reply went. Confused dot com probably.

Seen in a neighbour's tree this morning, 20+ Goldfinches chattering away to each other and wagging their rear ends from side to side as they do. A cheerful sight on a chilly morning.

Usual visitors in the garden including the resident pair of Robins sharing the mealworms.
