I used this toy binocular this morning to view a crow perched on the chimney pot at 124m.
The image was reasonably good with colour fringing.
It is made in Italy, light blue plastic.
Magnification about 2.7x.
It measures 40x25x30mm closed.
The objectives and eyepieces are hinged, probably plastic lenses.
Single elements uncoated.
25mm objectives field about 5.5 degrees.
It actually focuses and quite close also.
In addition, the objectives work as a magnifier when folded with two different magnifications depending if one or both objectives are used.
There is an accurate, but too sensitive compass and a mirror the other side to the compass. One can use this to magnify also.
The problem is that the four hinges are very loose.
If this multi optic had accurate hinges it would actually be a useful device.
One could also light a fire using the two folded objectives.
It cost about a pound in the charity shop.
An interesting failure.
