Tricky Blackbird question (1 Viewer)

Hey folks, hope this is the right place to ask ill try to keep this short but it seems like a tricky situation. We have had a pair of blackbirds in our garden for about 10 months
last year in november (which is spring where i am) they had a nest with 3 chicks, all 3 of them made it and left. The pair stayed together in the garden throughout all of summer and autumn spending most of the time in the trees that are only a few meters from the backdoor.

They would come down for food multiple times a day and were always there first thing in the morning and stayed round till it got dark.
The female is very very friendly and tame she would basicly stand right at my feet sometimes, she was also very territorial and would guard the area more so than the male it seemed at night she would stay in the trees calling out as it got dark, she would chase off anyone that tryed to come in.

I may have overdone it with the feeding sometimes but they were always looking for food, the territory has become alitte overrun with sparrows.
Anyway we are now in the breeding season and coming out of winter, for the start of winter there behaviour was same as it had been all year, coming down for food there in the morning etc.
About 3 weeks ago the female seemed to have a big fight on a shed roof with another female after that things changed, she would still ocme down for food but much less, she would eat and rather than go into her own tree she would fly to a big tree about 2 houses over that alot of birds sleep in, she would come down stay for abit then fly off.

I noticed that another male blackbird had been chasing her and trying to stop her from eating about a week ago, it would almost follow her as she left the big tree to come down to the territory for food, its got worse over the last few days
her mate seemed to do very little about this and about 3 days ago it seems another smaller female has moved in and taken her spot.
I know this is very long im just trying to get as much info as i can out, i appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read this.
So basicly any ideas whats going on?

Hi again SpringFolk. Is it Eurasian Blackbird we are talking about (I know they were introduced to Australia)? I'm presuming it is.

They can be pretty territorial, not just in the breeding season, but also through the winter when they don't want others muscling in when food is short. Though I have seen 4 or 5 Blackbirds in my garden through the winter; the adult male only occasionally getting a little fractious!

So not sure I've been of much help LOL

Yeah they are Eurasian Blackbirds, they have had the territory guarded all winter afew others have tried to come in and get food throughout winter but the female just seemed to move out after a fight with another female. Its really strange ive been trying to do as much research as i can but have not really found any answers as to why they would have split up.
