Trittiford mill pond and the dingles bird sightings (2 Viewers)

Grey waggie!

Did not take my note book for the walk today. Back “at work” (as a teacher so virtual work from home) so thought I would do a short walk. Weather so good so did about a hour in the end. Usual birds all active due to the season, but then we saw this on our return lap round the pond!

Made me so happy in these restricted times :)

FYI

Anyone planning a walk round Trittiford Mill Pond, the small bridge is out of action and roped off. If you want to do a circuit you have to pop over the small weir, now dry. So no good for bikes, scooters etc.

The nuthatch family are about to have a fledgling!

The nuthatches look like they have fledged. But the woodpeckers are still present - not sure for how long!

A good morning the other day along the River Cole with a Heron, Little Egret and Kingfisher.
The Kingfisher dived a few times into the river.
A pair of Bullfinches were feeding.

The Kingfisher along the River Cole. One morning I had stereo sound Kingfisher calls, left and right as they called to each other. I couldn't see them, they were hidden by the trees. Lots of birds feeding, Sparrows, Song Thrushes and a pair of Bullfinch.
