Well, a Whimbrel is a type of curlew, so I would say it is probably not the correct answer. The "curlew" question had been asked previously (see post # 16).

Ok here's my question:

Am I correct: it is not in the families Charadrius (Plovers), Haematopodidae (Oystercatchers), Jacanidae (Jacanas), Recurvirostridae (stilt/avocet), Scolopacidae (Sandpipers), and Glareolidae (Pratincoles, which haven't occured in CA as far as I know)?
