Hi. Birdguides highlighted the presence of Twite at the above location a few weeks back. Is it possible to these birds there in the winter months. Any info and site access tips would be appreciated.

As far as I am aware the Derbyshire breeders do not usually winter in the county. They will almost certainly be in Lincolnshire or Norfolk, the traditional wintering grounds for the South Pennine population are around The Wash. Specific breeding site details are generally withheld locally as the species is hanging on by a thread and there are still egg-collectors operating in the Peak District. Deer Hill Reservoir in West Yorkshire may be a winter option depending on what is happening with supplementary feeding.
