Brain soggy this morning. I can't work these out. They look not-quite-right for Knot Grass?

Help please!

Just quickly passing by, others will know better. I was once told the two little white marks in the middle of the wings (not the circles on the outside) helped identify Knotgrass from 2-3 very similar species. First pic seems to have them, second pic doesn't?

Ah, now I'm glad to hear you say that because I paused at that illustration several times, but it would be a month early vs Waring/Townsend/Lewington, which threw me off? Is that far in advance reasonable?

Cheers

John

Don't see a real problem with that, were it April I might worry a bit....:t:

I've had numerous, earliest records for a few things this year.

I once had an Early Grey on 28th June!
