Two gull IDs - Cambridgeshire, UK (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I was hoping to get confirmation of the two gulls here, taken today in Cambridgeshire. I thought the first may be a Caspian Gull - one having been reported a couple of days prior to this photo. To me it looks to have a particularly long bill and seemingly pale-grey legs.
The other I assume is a 3cy herring gull, but I'm not great on gulls so I'm sure someone here will have more of an idea than I do .

the one on the water is herring gull the other bird looks good for caspian

Agreed, Herring and Caspian.
The Caspian tho I would always be wary until confirmation from a seasoned Guller or, depending on status of Caspians in Cambs, await the outcome of a county rarity submission that has been scrutinised by the Gull experts

The long white tip to p10 and structure of bird and bare parts look good for Caspian Gull. However, to be 100% sure (and rule out a hybrid) then better images would be needed. Caspian Gull isn't that rare in Cambs nowadays, and no longer requires a description to be submitted - the bigger issue is hybrids with Herring Gull, as these seem to be increasing in frequency.
