There is a way. The hoster of an service is responsible, that´s why they often has some terms and conditions on their site that the user is responsible for what he do. But when the hoster know about he must react, that is what says E - commerce law §16 / 2. I tried to find some info for Johnny: http://www.berr.gov.uk/whatwedo/europeandtrade/key-trade-issues/e_commerce/page22867.html http://www.wto.org/english/tratop_e/ecom_e/ecom_e.htm Please search those sites to find the eligible text in english. Johnny should write to Google and inform them about the copyright infringement with the original picture enclosed. Than he can demand the personal data (file) of the user "bert" that he can pursuit this criminal offence. Those people must gave him or the lawyer this files otherwise the are handling against §16/1. And this they don´t risk for sure! Johnny can thereafter send an invoice to this user "bert". But allways as registered mail! Give him 2 weeks to pay the official amount x 3 (example: 100pounds x 3 = 300 pounds). Remember: he did not react and has a lot of not allowed pictures on picassa! As on his blog. Don´t forget to claim by Google to delete your pics Johnny, but first take screenshots of picasa and on the blog! Print them for you. When after 2 weeks there is no money go to your lawyer, and egage him with this case. Serves him right. False Ken, the lawyer will be payed by the looser, in this case "bert" :-O
