[QUOTE="John M Robinson, post: 1769139, member: 61814"] When I compared the Trinovid to Ultravid BRs a few years ago I really-really liked the little 8x32 Trinovid. The 32 size Ultravid was even lighter and I guess a bit brighter, both had that Leica color, contrast and sharpness that I like, but there was something about the rounded shape of the Trinnies that was just perfect in my hand. Unfortunately I had blackout issues with both, though I talked myself into buying the Trinnies anyway as with careful eye placement I could overcome the blackouts. Then I bought an 8x32 SE and the view so much easier, I sold the Leica's. In the larger 42 size Leicas the Trinovid are too heavy for me; I can see how they got the nickname "the brick", I can also see how some could love them the way some guys love Swaro SLCs. For me I much prefer the size, look and feel of the Ultravids in that 42mm size. This forum is funny how we get way into miniscule differences in optics and how it affects my perception of my own optics. I read thread after thread and get intrigued on some bino I haven't tried yet, or try some bino in a store and start thinking about selling my Ultravids. Then I take them out in the field to compare with other great "alpha" bins and realize my Leica's a great after all. Of couse the SEs are even better in my hand with aview just as good as the Leicas.
