All-Dayer - Saturday 3rd May

As Phil has already mentioned, this coming Saturday is the day of this year's spring all-dayer.

It is hoped that last year's reports will be ready for sale on the day, plus back copies for some years if anyone needs to fill in the gaps in their collection.

I also attach a check-list for those who are interested in keeping personal totals - 82 is the best all-day total on the reserve, 81 the best actually on an all-dayer day.

As you will see, we have recorded 131 different species in the 21 years the event has been running. Scope for a few more, or to find one of those not yet recorded this century ;)

Tomorrow at the Flashes we will be walking the fox fence to check for breaks. We will be going out around the periphery , not inside from about 10am. sorry for any inconvenience , but a fox was patrolling around the meadow this morning.

My first post in ages! Med gull was back at Flashes early evening, although had a skirmish with a bhg and flew off in the direction of the Moors. There was also a fox patrolling the fence, but didn't seem to find any breaks so wandered off.

Will do Gav - no probs. Do you still have my mobile no? Text me when you're planning on being down and someone I'm sure will be there with a report or two. PM me if you don't have no.

Cheers

A few pics from today.

Records shots of Ross's and Cetti's. Plus a couple of odd pics.
1. Ross's Goose.
2. Cetti's. (It had a red ring on the other leg)
3. Flashes hide from fox fence.
4. Nutters. Fancy that job? :t:

I note the Ross's Goose is back. The last date I believe he/it was on site was 25 Sept 2013 when it was seen "emigrating" by heading the "V" of a flock of around 20 Canada Geese.

7 of us sorted the fox fence:t:

Despite the lack of passage waders, if we can record Snipe, Med Gull, all the duck, Garden Warbler, Redpoll etc on Saturday we shouldnt finish last. I am expecting Middleton and Belvide to be in the mid 90s.

Just had a look at this - have you got Siskin and Linnet the wrong way round Mike? Might be the first blank Spring All-Dayer for Common Sand at this rate :eek!:
