I was checking through my photos of Upton last year and I came across the picture displayed below. Could anyone inform me on what Warbler species it is please?

A bright yellow underside was obvious at close inspection.

It was taken at the Moors Pool on the 19th April 2013.

Thanks in advance.

Chris

If anyone wants a 2011 or 2012 annual report please let me know (by PM so it doesn't clog the thread up) and I will run off a few more copies.

The Moors, West hide

Deafening cacophony of honking as a creche of 17 Canada goslings and 6 adults saw off ambush by fox at 18:25 today. The two nearest adults gave chase and saw the fox off deep into the scrub.

The 2013 Annual Report

I should like to add my thanks to the editorial team and to all those who contributed to the report. It is better than ever. At Upton we are extremely well informed about the birds that visit the reserve but only because so many people go to a lot of trouble: the stalwarts who go out - come rain, come shine - each week on 'their' day to count and post their findings (even BHG numbers); the regulars who diligently record their sightings in the log books; the early risers who catch the flyovers and the passage migrants that stay for only ten minutes; the photographers who wait quietly (or not) for those stunning shots; the editorial team who report these records, not as a dull list, but in a varied and lively style; finally thanks to the statistician general, who manages to control a huge amount of data and to present it in fresh and interesting ways. I salute you all.

new tern raft at the Moors

Tomorrow we will be carrying the new raft from the tool shed to the east hide. We plan to carry it on 4 wheelbarrows and a few stabilizers in a human form.
If you can spare an hour in the morning from c9.30ish it would be appreciated. :t:
It will be launched next week along with the three old ones. Hopefully this will coincide with the terns return.

Also tomorrow the conditions look good for some migration, the winds are expected to be from east to south east with sporadic showers.

hopefully the next few days will add a few new species for the year list:t:
