Hello, can someone please give an indications as where to look for the Jack Snipe and from which Moors hide. Thanks

The Jack Snipe are viewable from the East Hide, the largest and furthest away from the car park. Look straight out over Amy's Marsh towards the promontory where the vegetation has recently been cut. There is an obvious black patch where a fire has been lit. The Jack Snipe are usually to be found either beyond or to the right of this patch as you look out from the hide. A scope is recommended as they blend well into the foliage and can be difficult to find unless they bob up and down. Good Luck.:t:

An adult Black-headed Gull from the Polish ringing scheme (yellow ring/black print) - T8E7 was at the Moors Pool yesterday morning. I think this may be a new or previously unrecorded bird at Upton Warren.

Also 24H0 a 7 year old ringed in the Cotswold Water Park was seen again at the Moors Pool.

Hi Andy - yes, T8E7 is a new bird; will plug it into POLING and see what the system churns out. Odd that all our new BHGs are from Poland rather than say the Belvide or Marsh Lane schemes - anyone got any bright ideas why?
