Reports today via Andy Pitt and Twitter;

Moors – 5 Snipe, juv Dunlin, 2 Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Curlew, 54 Lapwing, 15 Shoveler, 13 Teal, drake Pochard, drake Gadwall, 2 Little Egret, 8 Cormorant.

Flashes – Single Avocet, 11 Curlew including tagged AT, 78 Lapwing, Common Tern, 2 Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, 5 Snipe, 3 Teal
 
Highlights this morning;

Moors – water levels quite high following heavy rain overnight with no shoreline now. However, still 2 Green Sandpiper and Snipe. Also an increase in Shoveler numbers to 16, 11 Little Grebe, 8 Teal, 1 Common Tern, 2 Water Rail, Kingfisher performing well, 2 Reed Warbler, 4 Cetti’s Warbler visible and feeding in the open from Jacobs Hide. 54 Lapwing, Little Egret. A lot of Chiffchaff and Blackcap feeding on berries – probably a dozen Chiffchaff across the reserve. A Willow Warbler singing at the North Moors.

Sailing Pool – 3 Wigeon until the aqua park started in earnest per Glenn Hunt

Flashes – more water on the first flash and channels filling to second flash. Good wader variety with 5 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, a juvenile Little Ringed Plover and an adult Ringed Plover all around the shoreline of the first flash from the Cuckoo Hide. Snipe to second flash with 11 Curlew including tagged ‘Tim’. A female/juvenile Whinchat in the area of the cut down oak opposite the main hide showed at least twice. Also Kingfisher, Peregrine, male Sparrowhawk, 2 Whitethroat.

Moors – Yellow Wagtail, 2 Red Kite, 3 Green Sandpiper, Wigeon, Common Tern, 2 Snipe, Nuthatch, Coal Tit, 2 Willow Warbler, 3 Little Egret, 6 Raven - per Dave Jackson

Moors – 2 Tree Pipit over causeway making 135th species for the year. Also Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Wigeon, 3 Snipe, 21 Shoveler, Swift, Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Nuthatch, Coal Tit, 2 Little Egret, 44 Pied Wagtail from roost per Dave Jackson

Please Note there will be some disturbance in front of the East Hide at the Moors tomorrow morning for clearing work.
 
Hi All
The August total was 102 species, highlights; a late Avocet, Ruff, Common Scoter, Golden Plover, Great White Egret, Greenshank, Osprey, Tree Pipit, Yellow-legged Gull. Notable absences; Meadow Pipit, Mediterranean Gull, Redshank, Wood Sandpiper, Stonechat, Tawny Owl. Total year List to date a lowly 136 species. Links to the current lists are on the blog.
 
Thank you Gert for all the information from yesterday's 'All Dayer'. Well done to all who braved the weather to count the 78 species. How well did we do compared to the other 'All Dayers' ?

It wouldnt be an All Dayer without some corrections - Belvide was actually 98 and I missed off Saltwells / Fens Pool on 60, Stubbers Green also on 60, Sheepwash UCP on 47 and Aqualate with 70.
