USA - Central Indiana - ID bird call (1 Viewer)

My dad started to hear this bird about the end of May in Indianapolis. We haven’t seen the bird itself but we have a recording of the call. He’s checked multiple bird call identification apps and hasn’t found a match yet.

Can anyone please identify what bird this call is from?

Was it daytime or evening hours he hears the call. It did remind me of the Killdeers I hear in the evening when they are flying over my yard.

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

Okay, I've heard them early morning and evening so who knows. Did you compare your recording sound to the Killdeer call? You can use Google to seek what is called the Killdeer wav file.

Sounds like a Baltimore Oriole to me, too, based on the tone and general pattern. Their songs are so variable it's difficult to find a match.

Definitely not a Killdeer, but there might be an Eastern Wood-Pewee singing at the start.
