I've lost the thread with this a bit, love the Goldfinch and Greenfinch (can we called you something else except Bananafishbones, a shorter version perhaps) anyway love the photos. Years ago I bought peanutflour and it was excellent for birdy creations. I've put pig wire around my bird table, protection, now the Collard Dove keeps sitting on top of the bird table like a sitting duck, one of these days he will become dinner for the hawk. It rained to-day but I did see the Grey Wagtail, its a stunner I'm sure its breast is pink. I've just remembered my tripod is still in the field.

Im still awaiting nuthatches here too Pam! I know they are present in the next village up from me, which is only a 0.7 miles away, Everytime I take my daughter too school, i hear nuthatches, most of the time they are in trees in peoples gardens! So they just need to filter downwards a little. Also had G S Woody fly over the school this morning too, not seen 1 in my garden for a while.

Hi All

Sorry I haven't been on for ages, started a new job and its been hectic, literally non stop! But it will all settle down soon enough.

Some great sites you've all had!! With the weather getting colder, i've noticed some different birds coming in now such as chaffinches and a regular coal tit.

Did some filming in the garden couple of Sundays ago, and only just got round to putting it altogether so here it is for you to take a look at - filmed with digi camera sitting ontop of a ladder!

At least you know you have Nuthatches nearby Michael!

CC, can I share the badger then - I've never seen a live one |:(|

Will that's a great video, some fantastic footage :t:

Spinneygail a beautiful photo:t:

I went out to tidy up the feeders first thing in time to see a Sparrowhawk swoop down on something at the end of the gardens, a lot of horrible screeching then all went quiet, I didn't see it come back up and didn't go check it out either. So all was a little quiet out there for a while.

The Chiffchaff has been back though, it's been flitting about in our tree this morning. So far Goldfinch, Blue and Great Tits, Sparrows and Starlings. Plus a very noisy Robin

2 chiffchaffs in, both of which proved impossible to photograph, as they stayed right in the thick of the hawthorns. 2 coal tit, 20 goldfinch over, 6 green finch. 4-5 chaffinches. Actually had some house sparrows in today too.
Also possible GOLDCREST, seen briefly but can't be 100% as it was a fleeting glimpse. Kestrel flyover too along with 2 grey wags and a few pieds.

Went for a walk with the dog this morning only took the binoc's with the dog, anyway saw a Coal Tit and a GSW. Hurried home to fetch camera birds had gone and a rather nice Small Copper butterfly was on some Margarum and I really sturggled to get the 400mm to focus but I got a couple. Off to buy a sack of peanuts and I'll take my camera its where I got the Nuthatch photo last week, the sun is out a bit. I'll watch the video in a minute.
