Hand feeding a wild bird video
Bit of a finch fest this morning on the bird table with greenfinch, bullfinch, goldfinch and brambling. Best of all though was a siskin and there's a short film of the bird here

I'm always struck by how small they are, certainly compared to brambling, but even goldfinch. Not such a common bird in our garden, but a little more frequent since Christmas.
No Chaffinch? That's all you need for the full set! :t:
I've only just realised that the Dutch webcam site that runs through the summer has some winter feeder cams- http://www.vogelbescherming.nl/nl/tuinvogel/beleef_de_winter/achtergrond/q/cam/3
On the right of the screen are some playback clips, some excellent sparrowhawk ones.
but I did snap an Eastern Meadowlark on the way from my office to the parking lot.

... blustery and rainy!
Mealy again today, along with 14 Lessers, c10 Siskins, 2 Bramblings, 1 Sparrowhawk and Mr GSW has now found a mate (7 days earlier than last year).
Also first pair of Collared Doves in the garden since June last year.
So hope everyone is ok, will try and pop by more often, now I'm feeling a little better. B![]()
Sunflower Hearts are the key IMO for attracting a wide range of birds. Just about all garden birds will eat them. If you've got the hearts thats good enough, if you add a couple of different foods for variety also, you got the best chances of attracting the widest range of bird. Just have to wait then until they are in the area![]()
A first visit of a Grey Squirrel to the feeders I have witnessed this year also.:t::t:
