Cheers all. Yes it was something I've never seen before. Just pig sick that these kind of things always seem to happen when it's practically dark!

Just don't look too far back please. ;) My early efforts are let's say 'less impressive'. :t:

we all cringe when we see our early photographic efforts Jaff. ;) mind you with the top level togger equipment that you have ,you'd have no excuses lol.

I just have a lowly Fuji HS10 but until I learn a lot more about using the manual settings and aperture shutter speed DOF , ISO etc the camera is still a lot better than my togging skills :t:

Snow 5 inches deep here and still snowing heavily. Birds no where to be seen this morning!

What a change from the gorgeous weather we have been having.

Even saw a Song Thrush in the garden yesterday..first time in 2 years!

no snow down here in the West Country yet thank goodness.;)

Isn't it funny how sometimes you pass a window and look out briefly to see something maybe rare or special .... Just one time in a thousand you see something that makes you drop everything and run for the camera.

I was on the phone today walking around the kitchen and casually looked out the window to see this chap fly into the tree outside my kitchen. I dropped the phone grabbed the camera and took 4x hurried shots through triple glazing with the wrong manual setting ...urghhhhhhhhhhh .damit:C

Just as I reset the camera he flew directly out of the tree towards me and turned on a pin head and shot up the lane at an unbelievable turn of speed. Their agility is breathtaking.

Wish I lived in a glasshouse;)

Feeders have been busier these last couple of days, and earlier on this evening I had a brief visit from a Male Sparrowhawk, I was in the kitchen making dinner and was about to roll down the blind (sun blazing through the window) and glanced at the spot I'd seen the SH before and there he was, I shouted through to my boyfriend and just at that moment the SH flew off. It was really nice to see him again even though it was brief |=)| I'm sure it was the same one I'd seen previously, his colouration was the same.

Not being pedantic..but I think your image shows a Mistle Thrush! Thought it worth mentioning...as it might be a garden tick. ;)

cheers

Just disturbed a male Sprarrowhawk from the feeder branch... I must remember to tip-toe to the garage next time :-C
