Very busy at the bird feeder today! (3 Viewers)

It's been really quiet at the feeders the last couple of weeks. This morning has seen a bit of a change, not sure if the temperature of -2 and heavy frost has anything to do with it.

So far today we've had :
Robin
Blackbird
Chaffinch
Goldfinch
Blue Tit
Coal Tit
Magpie

Let's see if we can get up to 10 species for the day, but of course because I've posted this everything will now disappear 😂

Sadly we have no feeders (mum doesn't allow it) but our neighbors do, and that's basically the same thing. My bedroom window overlooks their garden- a plus! Today we had our regular flock of tits- about 15 long-tails, some blue tits, some great tits, three robins, and some other resident visitors- a blackbird, that-dang-rat (aka a grey squirrel who monopolises everything around here but is strangely endearing) and finally, the magpies.

As a side note, opinions on squirrels? That dang rat used to be a nuisance but he's grown on us all. I handfeed him sometimes when he knocks on the glass door into the back yard.

Shame that your mum won’t allow any feeders, but at least you can enjoy your neighbours garden. When I was a young lad I would spend hours staring out the window at the birds, I still do 🤣

They do eat a lot of food which someone is paying for, me!

I always put swivels on my feeders to make it harder for them, but they are very dedicated and usually win the game…..

Beautiful day here, blazing sun but still really cold. Half a dozen or so goldfinch have made regular visits so far, along with coal tit, chaffinch, robin and a pair of bullfinch.

We also have a wren who has been very vocal and visual the last 2 days, which is unusual, normally only get fleeting sightings. I'm thinking they're calling/displaying for a mate ?
