Very busy at the bird feeder today! (3 Viewers)

Buzzard landed in the tree at the back of the garden this morning. Only the second time I’ve actually seen one in the garden. Mistle Thrush this afternoon.
In lockdown here in Wales so took a look at the OS map. Bud and I have found a circular 5 mile walk from the house that goes past three pubs. Most of it along tracks as well. Stroll on end of lockdownB

Good luck Julie. I know during the main lockdown we had a bit of leeway with the MOT.
Are you able to get some decent walks in where you are? Didn’t see too much with Bud this morning as it was hammering down. Did have a few Redwings, Bullfinches and a Dipper though.

Lesser Redpolls on the move now
x6 in the garden this morning, unfortunately they were easily out muscled by the Greenfinch and they moved on.
Time to get the Niger feeder out I think.

Busy this morning with House Sparrows not seen many House Sparrows in the garden for a while.
4 Mistle Thrush over the front garden and I’m pretty certain a ChiffChaff in the trees in the back today.

Male GSW on the feeders today. Also LTT’s and at least 3 Nuthatches.
Was zoning out doing some Teams training last Friday when I noticed a Goldcrest and Treecreeper in the front garden. Much more entertaining.
Have seen the Treecreeper twice more since.

Both fairly rare in my garden. Looks like it maybe a good winter for Goldcrest as seen lots out and about rcently

Very busy today with House Sparrows, Starling , Chaffinches & Goldfinches.
Male Bullfinch on the bird table today and a flock of Redwings out the front of the house.

Very quiet at the feeders today. A couple of Blue Jays, a couple of Black-capped Chickadees and a male Downy Woodpecker. It is a wet day, with a brief snow flurry, but generally mild. The feeders are all low but my wife has promised to fill them up later so that I'm ready for tomorrow's Feeder Watch day.
Been very busy today with Goldfinches, Greenfinches, House Sparrows & Coal Tit. Think this is the first time ever I have seen lots on my Snowman feeder and the seeds are going down.

Here in western France we have our first real 'winters' day
The lockdown means we can be out for three hours within 20km
Wet and cold (3°) so sat watching the feeder and the garden this morning before the rain started to beat down
we use shelled sunflower seeds and go through about 300 gms on a busy day but the rain means we will have to change down to smaller loads
we live in the country with a big forest and organic farming all around us
We have old oaks on one side which is pretty good
so far this week
Pheasants male and female
coal tits, marsh tit, great tit, blue tit, long tailed tits
dunnock, robin,
chaffinch, goldfinch, green finch, and our first brambling in five years !
woodpecker-green and greater spotted and a lesser !
woodpigeon, collared dove,
blackbird, redwing
chiffchaff
nuthatch
crows, jackdaw
and in the trees
a tree creeper
a sparrowhawk
a kestrel
stay safe
